2010 Flood, Belmont and Arlington, Massachusetts
March 25, 2010
I took a few pictures on the final day of the rain, and a few more the next day. The Arlington reservoir overflowed down the Minuteman Trail bike path, and tore it up somewhat.Flooded train tracks at the Waverley MBTA commuter rail stop.
Beaver Brook Park, looking out over the bridge.
Something out there was blowing air and water, no idea what
Standing, briefly, on the bridge in the previous photo, looking downstream.
Trapelo Road, now part of Beaver Brook
Beaver Brook, at the upper bridge in the park. Not exactly safe.
Wet, with sand from when it was even wetter.
Washout, along the trail, since repaired with rock and sand fill.
Overflow and washout, below the Park Avenue bridge.
More overflow and washout, just below the bridge.
More washout and overflow, above the bridge.
Water flowing down the path.
Stream/ditch overflowing into the path.
Repair and hazard cones, on the way.
Wet path, with reflection and bridge, near Trader Joe’s.
Would you cross this bridge?
