I grew up in Florida, attended college and graduate school in Texas, started a family in California, now located near Boston, playing life on the lowest difficulty setting. I work on the Go compiler, at Google, and I never, ever speak for my employer. I keep wondering when I’m supposed to have that conservative epiphany that’s supposed to come with age; the only changes I’ve noticed are that I ache a little more, have a lot more patience, and think everybody should ride their bicycle much, much more. Except, I am getting less patient about climate change, fascism, universal health care, inequality, housing, and transportation. Former me used to second-guess my strongly held opinions, those opinions are too strong, surely it cannot be that bad, well actually, yes it is, these things need to get better immediately.
